Anatomy of a Twitter Pitch

There’s a pitch contest on Twitter, you say? Come hither, friend, and gather around my campfire…

Twitter pitch contests are events where you post a pitch, a short 280-character encapsulation of your novel. Agents will scan through these pitches and like the ones they want. Editors will sometimes retweet to draw agent attention to certain pitches too!

Now, a 280-pitch sounds easy, right? I mean, you literally just throw in your plot, main character, and bam…

Just kidding. The truth is that, well, PITCHES ARE REALLY HARD TO CRAFT!

But don’t worry, I’m here to help! Below, I dissect my own pitch, which earned me agent attention and, ultimately, an offer of representation. So, a pitch contest worked for me, and I’m sure it can work for you! Follow the template below…

If you found this helpful, feel free to share and/or give me a follow on Twitter. I’m always excited to connect with new writing friends 🙂
